Jeanie Marie Buss was born in America. She is the current president and controlling shareholder of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. A California native, Buss was raised in an upper class family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was an estate tycoon before becoming the owner of Lakers as well as other companies. After her parents divorced in 1972 She began feeling as if she was abandoned. When she was 19 she started working for the family's business. Then she founded the Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. She was the president at the Great Western Forum, before becoming the Vice president of the Lakers. Her father died in 2013 and his controlling ownership of the Lakers was passed on to Buss as well as her siblings through a family trust with each sibling having the same vote. She assumed the office of the President of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also co-owns Women of Wrestling, a professional promotion of wrestling with its the headquarters located in Los Angeles.
