Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. The singer combines soul gospel jazz and R&B for a distinctive mixture. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as during the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's given title is Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing the musical profession by performing and singing at church. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B music scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was called Stalk You A house 12 released only in Japan and was later remixed by a variety of producers and has become the mainstay of her live sets. The Fighting Temptations was the second soundtrack that she sang on. She became the primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her about being the choir leader of this theatrical production. Sunshine gained national recognition through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing during President Obama's 2008 inauguration.
