Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of her home town. Michel Horowitz' father was editor and author and editor, as was Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father came from an ethnically Jewish background. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County, California at the age of seven years old. They resided in an area without electricity. Ryder, who was an avid reader aged 12 years old, became a reader since Ryder was not able to access television. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged twelve years old. Lucas, a 1986 film, was her first major character. Ryder was just 15 at the time she was cast. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her time in high school. Her performing career, she thought that it would aid her. However, it didn't come to pass. However, she kept working towards her goals. It was 1988 when Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that gave her her first big break. Ryder played successful roles for several films. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated to win Academy Awards. One of was for her performance In The Age of Innocence.
